Peter J. Koenig is an experienced trial lawyer and of counsel at Prindle, Goetz, Barnes & Reinholtz LLP, representing clients in catastrophic personal injury law, commercial, and employment law. For more than thirty years, he has handled disputes through arbitration, mediation, jury trials, bench trials, and appeals. His practice includes high-stakes litigation involving product claims, insurance disputes, unfair business practices, and complex civil cases. He is known for clear advocacy, steady case management, and strong trial skills that help clients face difficult legal problems with confidence and practical direction.
Peter began his higher education at the University of Colorado, where he studied for two years. He later earned his B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley in 1983. He then received his J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1987. During his legal training, he also served as an extern to the Honorable Eugene Lynch of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, strengthening his foundation in litigation and procedure.
Peter has helped clients manage large, complex cases with significant financial and legal risks throughout his career. He has worked on mass-disaster lawsuits, multimillion-dollar insurance and commercial disputes, wage-and-hour class actions, and complex pharmaceutical litigation. Peter J. Koenig is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of California. He has earned respected recognition in the legal field, including the 2018 San Francisco Trial Lawyer of the Year award. He is also a member of ABOTA and has held the highest AV legal rating for over two decades. In addition, he has published articles and spoken at legal seminars on discovery, trial advocacy, assumption of risk, and negligent infliction of emotional distress.
