Peter’s educational background laid a strong foundation for his legal expertise. He earned his B.A. with Honors in Philosophy from Bates College, studied at Oxford University, and received his J.D. from Boston University School of Law, where he was recognized as Best Speaker and Best Team in the Homer Albers Moot Court Competition.
Peter formerly served as the State Solicitor for Maine, overseeing all civil appeals and arguing landmark cases, including Alden v. Maine, before the U.S. Supreme Court, earning national recognition for Best Brief. He has briefed and argued over 100 appeals in nearly every U.S. appellate circuit and multiple state supreme courts, building a national appellate reputation.
Peter has represented over a dozen of the top 100 Internet retailers in cases involving patent, trademark, copyright, and trade dress issues. He also advocates in administrative hearings and leads efforts in submitting amicus briefs in key patent matters before top courts, including the Federal Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.
