Peter J. Brann focuses his legal practice on complex litigation involving intellectual property and corporate disputes. He has successfully led high-stakes trials as lead counsel in numerous multimillion-dollar cases. His work spans state and federal courts across 19 states, and he is known for resolving complicated matters efficiently and strategically.

Peter’s educational background laid a strong foundation for his legal expertise. He earned his B.A. with Honors in Philosophy from Bates College, studied at Oxford University, and received his J.D. from Boston University School of Law, where he was recognized as Best Speaker and Best Team in the Homer Albers Moot Court Competition.

Peter previously served as Maine’s State Solicitor, where he led all civil appeals and argued high-profile cases before the U.S. Supreme Court, including Alden v. Maine, which earned national recognition for Best Brief. He has briefed and argued more than 100 appeals in nearly every federal circuit court and multiple state supreme courts, establishing a strong national reputation as an appellate lawyer.

Peter has represented over a dozen of the top 100 Internet retailers in cases involving patent, trademark, copyright, and trade dress issues. He also advocates in administrative hearings and leads efforts in submitting amicus briefs in key patent matters before top courts, including the Federal Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.
