Paula M. Barbaruolo, ESQ. built a distinguished legal career focused on bankruptcy and debt reorganization matters, earning the trust of individuals and families facing significant financial challenges. With more than 30 years of experience in these complex areas of law, she became known for providing thoughtful guidance, practical solutions, and strong advocacy during difficult financial circumstances. Her work has centered on helping clients understand available options while navigating the legal processes associated with debt relief, foreclosure concerns, and financial recovery.
Paula earned her Bachelor’s degree from Hofstra University and later received her J.D. from Albany Law School. Since 2014, she has shared her knowledge with future legal professionals as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Albany Law School, where she teaches Consumer Bankruptcy. Her combined experience in legal practice and legal education reflects a deep commitment to the development and understanding of bankruptcy law.
Paula has remained actively involved in professional and community legal organizations throughout her career. She served as the former President of the Capital Region Bankruptcy Bar Association (CRBBA) and was the First Chair of the Pro Bono Committee, CRBBA. Her professional achievements reflect years of leadership and service in bankruptcy law. She received the 2019 SuperLawyer Designation by SuperLawyers.com and the 2016 Nicholas S. Priore Advocacy & Professionalism Award Recipient, CRBBA. She was also honored with the 2015 Barry A. Gold Law Firm Leadership Award, the 2002 Law Firm Leadership Award, Orlando & Barbaruolo, PLLC, CDWBA Legal Project. Her earlier honors include the 2000 Distinguished Member Award, CRBBA, and the 2000 Field of Dreams Award, CDWBA Legal Project.
Paula M. Barbaruolo regularly presents educational programs on consumer bankruptcy, foreclosure prevention, and mortgage modification for bar associations, legal service organizations, and community groups. She also serves on the Northern District of New York Bankruptcy Court Local Rules Committee.
