Paul J. Toland has been a committed legal advocate in Massachusetts since 2012, focusing his practice on immigration and criminal defense law. Known for his courtroom tenacity and deep empathy, he defends clients facing removal proceedings, criminal charges, and federal litigation. Paul earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Rochester before obtaining his Juris Doctor degree from the Massachusetts School of Law in 2012. He passed the Massachusetts Bar Exam the same year and is admitted to practice in both Massachusetts state and federal courts.
Paul began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in Worcester, where he conducted over 100 trials and built a solid foundation in criminal litigation. Transitioning to private practice, Paul continued to sharpen his advocacy, now representing clients in both immigration matters and criminal defense across the District and Superior Courts.
Through his work, Paul J. Toland, Esq. has vacated numerous criminal convictions, which has allowed non-citizen clients to avoid deportation and secure lawful status in the U.S. He also provides legal representation at U.S. consulates abroad, before USCIS, and at the Board of Immigration Appeals, offering a full range of immigration services.
