About
Paul Carthew is the founder of Carthew Law Firm, P.C. in downtown Rochester, Michigan. His practice includes contract and business litigation, real estate and construction transactions, and estate planning. Paul represents clients ranging from individuals to large domestic and international companies. He approaches each legal matter by considering the client’s objectives and the specific documents, negotiations, or disputes that need attention.
Paul earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Saint Thomas in Houston, Texas, before receiving his Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit School of Law. During law school, he served as Article and Book Review Editor for the University of Detroit Law Review and as a director on the Moot Court Board. He also participated in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court team.
Paul has more than 25 years of experience addressing legal issues involving real estate, construction, business dealings, and estates. He is also a licensed real estate broker in Michigan, providing additional industry knowledge for property transactions. His business litigation work includes contract disputes, while his transactional practice covers matters where parties need to define rights, responsibilities, and expectations before an agreement is completed.
Paul Carthew is licensed to practice in Michigan state courts and holds inactive but good-standing licensure in Texas. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, Oakland County Bar Association, Rochester Bar Association, and American Inns of Court. His combination of legal practice and real estate credentials supports his work on property, construction, and business matters that require both legal and commercial understanding.
