Patrick Winn

Patrick Winn is the founder of Winn Law, P.C. in Woburn, Massachusetts, where he represents clients facing criminal charges in courts throughout the state. A former Assistant District Attorney, he handles misdemeanor and felony cases from arraignment through trial. His practice includes OUI and DUI defense, clerk magistrate hearings, domestic violence and restraining orders, probation violations, violent crimes, drug offenses, sex crimes, motor vehicle offenses, theft, property crimes, and student defense.

Winn earned his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law, an M.A. in English Literature from Boston College, and a B.A. in English from Brandeis University, where he graduated cum laude with high honors and a minor in Philosophy. His education developed strong research, writing, and analytical skills. He later built courtroom experience as a prosecutor, giving him practical knowledge of how criminal cases are investigated, charged, presented, negotiated, and tried.

Winn began his legal career prosecuting misdemeanor and felony cases as an Assistant District Attorney. Before founding his firm, he practiced complex litigation and criminal defense with firms in the Greater Boston area. He has defended clients in Massachusetts district, superior, and federal courts and has extensive experience handling cases from arraignment to trial. His current work includes challenging evidence, litigating legal issues, negotiating resolutions, and preparing cases for trial when a contested hearing is necessary.

Patrick Winn combines defense work with prior prosecutorial experience and direct responsibility for criminal cases at every stage. His background allows him to evaluate how the government may build a case while developing defense strategies based on the evidence, procedure, and consequences facing each client. From his Woburn office, he represents individuals confronting a wide range of Massachusetts criminal allegations and focuses on careful preparation, direct client communication, and determined courtroom advocacy.
