Patrick S. Preller is the managing partner of Preller Law Firm, LLC in Baltimore, Maryland, where he practices criminal defense, personal injury, medical malpractice, employment discrimination, and civil litigation. Preller represents clients facing misdemeanor and felony charges, including serious violent offenses, drug cases, DUI and traffic matters. Preller earned his J.D. cum laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1998. While in law school, he served as an associate editor of the Law Review and was inducted into Phi Delta Phi. After graduation, he clerked for Judge Maurice W. Baldwin of the Circuit Court for Harford County. His academic and judicial experience provided a strong foundation in legal research, writing, procedure, and courtroom advocacy.
Before entering private practice, Preller served as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Baltimore City, where he prosecuted thousands of felony, misdemeanor, narcotics, and juvenile cases. He later practiced with Rosen and Esterson before moving into private firm leadership. As both a prosecutor and defense attorney, he has tried hundreds of criminal and civil cases. His experience spans homicide, robbery, burglary, sexual assault, controlled substance offenses, medical malpractice, product liability, wrongful death, and employment disputes.
Patrick S. Preller also serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Baltimore, teaching Constitutional Law, Fourth Amendment, and Criminal Procedure topics.
