Patrick McKay

Patrick McKay is a Michigan attorney who advises businesses and commercial real estate clients on transactions and development matters. He represents property sellers, buyers, and developers from the first stages of a deal through due diligence, closing, and later issues. He also serves as outside general counsel for small and midsize businesses. In that role, he helps owners form companies, negotiate contracts, manage relationships with suppliers and employees, and buy or sell businesses.

Patrick earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, cum laude, from Marian University in 2005, with a double major in Business Management and Business Marketing. The university’s faculty named him Marketing Student of the Year that same year. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 2008. While in law school, he worked as a law clerk, gaining practical experience alongside his legal studies.

Patrick guides real estate clients through negotiations and due diligence, helping them address questions before and after closing. For business clients, his work covers formation, commercial agreements, relationships with contractors and suppliers, employment contracts, and ownership changes.
