Patrick J. Weiland

Patrick J. Weiland is a Senior Partner at Dolci & Weiland Attorney At Law and a skilled criminal defense attorney known for handling complex and high-stakes cases. With decades of legal experience, he focuses his practice on defending clients facing DUI, drug crimes, domestic battery, sex offenses, theft charges, juvenile matters, misdemeanors, felonies, and white-collar crimes. His background as both a prosecutor and defense lawyer gives him a strong understanding of how cases are built, allowing him to protect his clients’ rights at every stage of the legal process.

Patrick earned his J.D. from the Illinois Institute of Technology Chicago-Kent College of Law. He also holds a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point. His legal education built the foundation for his detailed approach to criminal litigation, case analysis, and trial advocacy.

Patrick spent nearly 10 years at the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office before entering private practice. He handled thousands of cases, including complex felony matters, DUI charges, white-collar investigations, and violent crimes such as armed robbery, first-degree murder, and criminal sexual assault. As a misdemeanor Assistant State’s Attorney, he prosecuted more than 10,000 DUI cases.

Patrick later served as a Felony Assistant State’s Attorney and eventually supervised the felony trial division. Patrick also trained law enforcement officers as the instructor at the Suburban Law Enforcement Academy and helped create the Financial Identity Theft Task Force. From 2005 to 2010, he also served as a prosecutor in the Village of Downers Grove and was selected Special Assistant State’s Attorney.

Patrick J. Weiland draws on this extensive experience to defend individuals throughout DuPage County and the surrounding areas.
