About
Pamela L. Faris is an associate attorney at ARWJ Family Law in Albuquerque. She has practiced family law exclusively since her admission to the New Mexico bar in 2019. Her work includes divorce, custody, parentage, child support, kinship guardianship, and grandparent visitation. She explains legal procedure and the rules relevant to a client’s particular circumstances before developing an approach to the dispute.
Faris earned a J.D. from the University of Wyoming College of Law, an MPA in Local Government from the University of Colorado, and a B.A. in Political Science and Public Policy from the University of Denver. Her studies in law, government, and public policy support her ability to navigate court processes and explain how legal rules apply to family decisions.
Before becoming an attorney, Faris worked as a legal assistant, paralegal, and law clerk with firms and nonprofit organizations. She managed a Family Law Court Program that worked with metropolitan district courts to help hundreds of low-income people each year with filings and representation in uncontested divorce and custody matters. She favors collaborative negotiation where appropriate and litigates when a matter requires court action.
Pamela L. Faris also contributed to volunteer service that has been recognized with the 2023 NMVAP Volunteer Attorney of the Year award and the 2024 NMVAP Felipe Quintana Memorial Award of Excellence. She has also participated in family law and young lawyer sections of the state bar. She brings an emphasis on client education, access to legal help, and practical resolution to her family law practice.
