About
Mitch Wyatt is a partner with Family Law Center for Men in Anchorage and has practiced law since 1992. His career includes extensive family law work, with a long-standing focus on fathers’ and grandparents’ rights, as well as current work involving estate planning and Medicaid-related concerns for seniors. Mitch brings experience from military, government, and private practice to matters that involve family relationships, long-term planning, and significant personal and financial decisions.
Mitch earned a J.D. from Brigham Young University, J. Reuben Clark Law School in 1992. He received a B.S. from Brigham Young University in 1989, graduating cum laude with a major in Business Finance. Before returning to college, he served in the US Navy as an electronics technician and instructor and later worked as a field engineer and technical writer. His business and technical background complements his legal training and practical approach to problem solving.
After law school, Mitch returned to the Navy as a JAG officer, serving as a prosecutor in drug and child sexual abuse cases and later as Assistant Staff Judge Advocate to a two-star admiral. He practiced in Texas before moving to Alaska in 2003, where he served as an Assistant Attorney General in Child in Need of Aid matters. He returned to private practice in 2007 and developed substantial family law and appellate experience, including work in Weinberger v. Weinmeister.
Mitch Wyatt combines decades of litigation, prosecution, public service, family law, and planning experience. His background allows him to evaluate disputes from several perspectives and to address both immediate legal problems and longer-term family concerns. Whether handling a contested family matter or helping clients protect a financial legacy, Mitch focuses on identifying the central issue, explaining available options, and developing a practical path through complex legal circumstances.
