Pamela Gavin

Pamela C. Gavin is the founder of Gavin Law Offices, PLC, a nationally recognized intellectual property law firm serving businesses, creators, and entrepreneurs. Her practice focuses on intellectual property, entertainment law, and general business matters, helping clients protect, commercialize, and enforce valuable creative and technological assets.

Pamela earned her Juris Doctor from the College of William & Mary’s Marshall-Wythe School of Law, where she received repeated honors in the Legal Skills Program. She also holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Virginia, earning dual degrees in Marketing and Finance, cum laude.

Pamela’s legal work includes U.S. and international trademark registration and enforcement, copyright protection, and entertainment and music law. She also advises clients on internet and e-commerce matters, domain name disputes, privacy compliance, technology development, licensing, software agreements, and technology transfer strategies.

Before founding her firm, Pamela practiced for more than a decade at McGuireWoods LLP and Reed Smith LLP. During her tenure at these international law firms, she was a member of corporate, intellectual property, media and entertainment, marketing, advertising, technology, and venture capital practice groups.

Pamela is widely recognized for professional excellence, having been named to Virginia Business Magazine’s “Legal Elite” multiple times and recognized by Richmond Magazine as a Top Lawyer. She has also been ranked Superb on Avvo and nationally ranked for trademark filings, reflecting her extensive experience in brand protection.

Pamela Gavin is admitted to practice in Virginia and before multiple federal courts, including the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the U.S. Trademark Office.
