Nika Gholston

Nika Gholston is an accomplished attorney recognized for her leadership and more than two decades of legal service in Alabama and Georgia. Her practice includes estate and trust administration, mediation, and intellectual property counseling. She has helped numerous individuals and businesses safeguard assets, protect creative works, and resolve disputes through skillful and efficient legal guidance.

Nika began her academic journey at Alabama A&M University, earning a Bachelor of Science in 2001. She later attended Cumberland School of Law, Samford University, receiving her Juris Doctor in 2005. While at Cumberland, she excelled in Alternative Dispute Resolution and served on the National Mediation Team that won first place at the American Bar Association National Mediation Competition. That same year, she represented the United States at the International Chamber of Commerce Mediation Competition in Paris, France. Her commitment to legal excellence continued with her completion of the Copyright X Certification from Harvard Law School in 2018.

Nika’s early career included serving as a Conciliation Specialist for the United States Department of Justice, Community Relations Service, in Atlanta, Georgia. In that role, she advised government officials on conflict resolution strategies related to race, color, and national origin, contributing to significant national reports such as the Annual Assessment of Racial Tension. Her extensive federal experience shaped her ability to manage complex issues with balance and diplomacy before transitioning to private practice.

Throughout her career, Nika Gholston has been dedicated to professional growth and community service. She is a graduate of the Alabama State Bar Leadership Class 15 and a former Fellow of the American Bar Association’s Family Law Section. In recognition of her firm’s excellence, her team received the “Best of Alabama” Estate Planning Law Firm Award in 2025. Nika currently serves on the Alabama State Bar Board of Bar Examiners and the Bench and Bar Task Force, continuing her mission to advance fairness, mentorship, and access within the legal profession.
