About

Nicole Romine is an attorney at Lubnau Law in Gillette, Wyoming, with nearly two decades of legal experience spanning complex litigation, government representation, and leadership. Her current practice is focused on trusts and estate planning, where she helps individuals and families plan ahead, protect assets, and create clear arrangements for the future. She also brings substantial experience advising governmental clients and understanding the operational and legal issues public institutions face.

Nicole earned a B.A. in English from the University of Rochester and a J.D. from Washburn University, School of Law. She is admitted in Wyoming, Missouri, and Kansas and in the US District Court for the District of Wyoming. Her academic training in writing and law, combined with years of courtroom and appellate work, supports a practice that requires clear drafting, careful analysis, and the ability to explain difficult legal decisions to clients and public officials.

Nicole previously served as Criminal Division Chief for the US Attorney’s Office for the District of Wyoming. In that role, she managed attorneys and support staff across multiple offices and supervised prosecutors handling complex criminal matters. Her public service work gave her extensive courtroom, appellate, management, and government experience. She now applies that background to trusts and estates and governmental representation, where planning, governance, risk assessment, and clear communication are often central.

Nicole Romine has served as chair of the US Department of Justice Criminal Litigation Working Group, a member of the Criminal Chief’s Working Group, and an instructor for the Department of Justice Office of Legal Education and the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. She combines leadership, litigation, and public-sector experience with a people-focused approach to trusts, estates, and government matters, helping clients move through important decisions with practical guidance.
