About
Joseph E. Hallock is a founding member of Stevens, Edwards, Hallock & Undeberg, P.C. in Gillette, Wyoming. His practice includes business and estate planning, probate and trusts, real estate, mineral law, banking, contracts, and civil litigation. Before law school, he worked in the oil and gas industry as a drilling mud engineer, landman, and production accountant, giving him practical industry experience that informs his representation of landowners and other clients on mineral and property issues.
Joe earned an A.S. from Casper College, a B.S. from the University of Wyoming, and a J.D. from the University of Wyoming College of Law. He was admitted to the Wyoming bar in 1982 and is admitted in Wyoming state courts, the US District Court for the District of Wyoming, and the US Supreme Court. His education and oil and gas background support a practice that combines legal analysis with practical knowledge of land, mineral, contractual, and business relationships.
Joe represents landowners on leasing, surface, title, and other real property and contract matters. He previously practiced insurance defense and now directs much of his litigation work toward protecting clients’ contractual interests as insureds, plaintiffs in personal injury cases, and parties in other civil disputes. He also serves as general counsel to the Campbell County Fire Department and local banks, reflecting experience with public entities, financial institutions, and ongoing organizational legal needs.
Joseph E. Hallock has maintained an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell for more than twenty years. He has served as president of the Campbell County Bar Association and on the Wyoming Lawyers Assistance Program Foundation board, along with civic leadership roles in Campbell County healthcare.
