Nicholas A. Kotz

Nicholas A. Kotz is a Senior Associate Attorney at The Law Firm of Shihab & Associates, where he works in the Corporate Immigration Law Practice Group. He focuses on helping businesses, professionals, and employers navigate complex U.S. immigration laws. Licensed to practice law in Ohio since 2020, he handles a wide range of employment-based immigration matters, including immigrant and nonimmigrant visa petitions, green card applications, and work authorization processes. Mr. Kotz earned a B.A. from Ohio State University in 2013 before continuing his legal studies at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. There, he completed his J.D. in 2020. His educational background provided him with the legal knowledge and analytical skills needed to address challenging immigration matters and support clients through important legal decisions.

Mr. Kotz gained valuable legal experience while serving as a law clerk in the Appellate Unit of the Franklin County Public Defender’s Office before joining The Law Firm of Shihab & Associates. This role helped strengthen his legal research, writing, and case analysis abilities. Today, he applies those skills to employment-based immigration cases involving PERM Labor Certification, EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant petitions, adjustment of status applications, change of status requests, H-1B visas, E-1 and E-2 Treaty Investor and Treaty Trader visas, and L-1 intracompany transferee visas.
