Nancy Bloodgood

Nancy Bloodgood is a partner with broad experience in employment and labor law, mediation, and public service. She has practiced before state and federal courts and advises clients with clear, practical guidance. Her background includes private practice, government service, and leadership within professional legal organizations across South Carolina.

Nancy graduated from Georgetown University in 1975 and earned her Juris Doctor from Catholic University School of Law in 1983. While in law school, she served as an Associate Editor of the Law Review, building strong research, writing, and analytical skills that support effective advocacy and client-focused outcomes.

Nancy is a member of the South Carolina Bar and is admitted to practice in the South Carolina District Court, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court. She was formerly a member of the Pennsylvania and District of Columbia Bars during the early stages of her practice.

Nancy previously worked as a partner at a large defense firm in Charleston and served as a Deputy County Attorney for Charleston County. She also worked as a staff attorney for the South Carolina Coastal Council, gaining valuable experience in government and regulatory matters through complex public issues.

Nancy has held leadership roles, including President of the South Carolina Association of County Attorneys and President of the South Carolina Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. She also chaired the Employment and Labor Law Section of the FBA and has been recognized in Super Lawyers publications for many years.

Nancy Bloodgood is a certified mediator and arbitrator who remains active in professional and community organizations. She is a member of several bar associations, a past board member of the Center for Heirs’ Property Preservation, a member of the Turning Leaf Project Board, and a volunteer with Hope Through Literacy.
