Monte M. Deere, Jr. is an experienced attorney who advises companies on complex business transactions. Monte earned his J.D. from Brigham Young University, J. Reuben Clark Law School in 1991, graduating summa cum laude. He served as Lead Articles Editor for the BYU Law Review and received the J. Reuben Clark Award. He also earned both an M.Acc. and a B.S. in Accounting, magna cum laude.

Monte focuses on corporate finance, corporate law and governance, and mergers and acquisitions. He assists clients with recapitalizations, divestitures, and other commercial agreements. He also supports early stage companies with formation, structure, strategic relationships, and venture capital and other financings.

Monte has strong professional experience across legal and business roles. He served as a clerk to the Honorable Deanell Reece Tacha of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. He also worked at Carrington Coleman Sloman & Blumenthal in Dallas and at R.G. Management Company.

In addition to his legal practice, Monte served as an Adjunct Law Professor at Brigham Young University, teaching Accounting and Finance for Lawyers from 2008 to 2012. His teaching reflects his strong knowledge of both legal and financial matters and his ability to guide others clearly.
