Misty Borland Phiffer

Misty Borland Phiffer is the founding and managing attorney of Borland Phiffer Law PLLC, where she focuses exclusively on personal injury and wrongful death litigation. With over 24 years of trial experience, she is devoted to advocating for victims and families whose lives have been permanently affected by acts of negligence. Misty’s practice includes trucking and car accidents, industrial and oilfield injuries, and other catastrophic loss cases across Texas and New Mexico.

A native of Midland, Texas, Misty earned her J.D. from Baylor Law School in 1994 and immediately returned home to begin her legal career. She started as a personal injury trial attorney at her family’s firm, where she gained extensive courtroom experience handling complex and high-stakes cases. Her work continues to focus on holding negligent companies and individuals accountable, enforcing safety standards, and helping victims recover justice and financial stability after serious injury or loss.

Misty’s commitment to the legal profession and her community is reflected through her leadership and professional service. She is a past President of the Permian Basin Trial Lawyers Association, a sustaining member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, and a graduate of the Keenan Ball Trial College. She has served on the Texas Grievance Committee for District 16B, including as Chair, and is also a member of the New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice.
