Miriam Hiser

Miriam Hiser is a trial lawyer. She has 36 years of experience. She represents individuals and businesses in commercial and bankruptcy litigation. Her practice spans state and federal courts. Miriam focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation, handling contract disputes, receivership appointments, construction defect claims, product liability matters, and insurance coverage disputes. She also represents creditors in high-stakes bankruptcy proceedings, including adversary hearings, cash collateral disputes, plan confirmation hearings, and motions for relief from stay. Miriam has a strong record of results, including securing a $1.7 million tax refund from the City of San Francisco after an eight-day trial and obtaining a $450,000 bankruptcy recovery for a creditor client.

Before founding her firm in 1999, Miriam honed her skills in complex multi-party litigation. She was a partner at Marron Reid LLP and an associate at Bingham (now part of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP). Her trial experience includes both jury and bench trials, making her a trusted advocate in high-stakes legal disputes.

Miriam is a recognized leader in her field. She often lectures on bankruptcy and litigation for bar associations, including the California Bankruptcy Forum and the ABA. Her legal acumen and commitment to professional excellence are widely respected.
