Minturn Wright

Minturn Wright is a founding partner at Shannon & Wright LLP, where he focuses his practice on real estate transactions and litigation. With over three decades of experience, he represents clients in real estate transfers, property disputes, tax appeals, and civil rights cases. He also advises on business law, environmental issues, and trademark licensing, bringing a versatile legal perspective to every matter.

Minturn earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Yale University, where he also lettered in the crew team. He continued his academic journey at the University of Southern California, earning his Master of Science, Juris Doctor, and Ph.D. in Biology. His doctoral research on marine invertebrates and natural antibiotics fostered an analytical mindset that informs his innovative problem-solving in legal practice.

Before co-founding his firm, Minturn worked at firms ranging from large international organizations to boutique practices, including Rich Rosenthal Brincefield Manitta Dzubin & Kroeger, LLP, where he focused on real estate and business matters. He also partnered with a property tax consultancy to challenge over-taxation.

Minturn is a frequent presenter at National Business Institute and Continuing Legal Education events, where he lectures on real estate, title law, and property disputes. Recognized as one of Best Lawyers® in Real Estate (2025–2026) and a Legal Elite by Virginia Business Magazine (2020–2024), he is also listed among Top Attorneys in Real Estate by Arlington Magazine (2022–2024).
