About
Michelle K. Freed is a co-founder of Eblen Freed PC in Portland, where the firm practices in bankruptcy, debt management, creditors rights, and consumer protection. Her work includes helping clients obtain debt relief, resolve disputes, navigate court procedures, and collect money that is owed to them. She emphasizes accessible and responsive client service while addressing financial and litigation problems that can have significant personal or business consequences.
Freed earned a J.D. from Lewis & Clark Law School and a B.A. in Political Science from Western Washington University. After college, she moved to Portland for law school. Her legal education provided a foundation for bankruptcy, creditor-rights, and litigation work, while her later practice experience developed her ability to guide clients through court processes, financial disputes, and the practical decisions involved in debt-related matters.
After law school, Freed joined Todd Trierweiler and Associates and gained substantial bankruptcy experience. Through that office, she became involved with a pro bono bankruptcy clinic and has volunteered there since 2005. In 2007, she joined Smith and Greaves, LLP, where she practiced creditor rights and litigation. She later co-founded Eblen Freed PC in 2011 with Tim Eblen.
Michelle K. Freed is admitted in Oregon and Washington state and federal courts, with inactive Idaho admission. She has co-authored material on bankruptcy issues arising in family-law matters and belongs to professional organizations including the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association, American Association for Justice, and Public Justice. Her practice combines bankruptcy knowledge, creditor-rights experience, litigation, and long-term pro bono service to help clients address debt and financial disputes.
