Michelle Behan

Michelle Behan is the owner and president of The Behan Law Group, P.L.L.C., where she focuses her practice on criminal defense and DUI litigation. She is widely recognized for her courtroom skill, strategic preparation, and relentless advocacy on behalf of individuals facing serious criminal allegations throughout Arizona.

Michelle earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law. She also holds a Master of Science degree from City University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Park University, graduating summa cum laude. Her academic background reflects strong analytical training and disciplined legal preparation.

Prior to practicing law, Michelle served nearly ten years in the United States Navy as a cryptologist, followed by five years as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. In those roles, she investigated violent crimes, national security matters, and crimes against children, earning national recognition for her work.

After law school, Michelle began her legal career as an Assistant Public Defender in Tucson, where she gained extensive trial experience. She later practiced with a respected criminal defense firm, successfully litigating complex constitutional and evidentiary issues, particularly in DUI cases, including appellate-level challenges.

In 2017, Michelle founded The Behan Law Group, P.L.L.C., establishing a firm dedicated to high-level criminal and DUI defense. Since founding the firm, she has achieved a notable record of jury trial success and is widely regarded as a formidable presence in the courtroom.

Michelle is board-certified in DUI defense and serves in leadership roles within national criminal defense organizations. She frequently lectures, authors legal analysis, and contributes to appellate advocacy, reflecting her commitment to advancing the practice of criminal defense law.
