Michael Kessinger

Michael Kessinger is an attorney at Goicoechea Law, LLC, in Lewiston, Idaho, where he focuses on workers’ compensation and personal injury. He represents injured workers and accident victims across Idaho and eastern Washington. His practice includes workplace injuries, vehicle collisions, dog bites, brain injuries, and wrongful death claims. Kessinger helps clients understand insurance and benefit issues, evaluate their legal options, and pursue compensation after injuries disrupt their work and daily lives.

Kessinger earned his J.D. from the University of Idaho College of Law in 2002. He holds a B.A. in Political Science, magna cum laude, from Wabash College, earned in 2000, and an A.A. from North Idaho College, earned in 1998. While at Wabash, he received the George A. Lipsky Award and the Daniels Award in Philosophy of Law. His education supports his work involving complex injury claims and administrative proceedings.

Admitted to the Idaho Bar in 2003 and the Washington Bar in 2007, Kessinger has more than two decades of experience representing injured clients. He has argued cases before the Idaho Supreme Court and appeared in hundreds of proceedings before the Idaho Industrial Commission. He earned the commission’s Workers’ Compensation Professional certification in 2004. His practice also draws on experience with disability-related claims and the challenges injured people face in returning to work.

Kessinger is a longtime member of the Idaho Trial Lawyers Association and has served in its leadership. He has also participated in the Idaho State Bar’s Workers’ Compensation Section and published articles on workers’ compensation topics in the ITLA Journal.
