Michael J. Rousseaux

Michael J. Rousseaux is a seasoned trial attorney who focuses on medical malpractice and personal injury. He has built a career helping victims of medical errors and negligence get justice. With over three decades of legal experience, he brings both skill and deep compassion to every case he takes on.

Michael earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Gardner-Webb University in 1987, graduating cum laude. He then completed his Juris Doctor in 1990 at Campbell University Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law. His legal education laid a solid foundation for the diverse practice experience that followed.

Michael’s legal path began in a general practice firm, where he gained experience in many areas of the law. He then spent eight years as an insurance defense attorney, sharpening his trial skills. In 2002, he shifted focus to representing people injured by medical or motor vehicle negligence. His father’s medical injury inspired this lifelong dedication.

Over the years, Michael has earned a strong reputation for standing up for those harmed by medical professionals. He uses his knowledge of insurance defense to anticipate tactics and build stronger cases for his clients. His courtroom experience gives clients a confident, strategic voice in difficult times.

Michael is licensed to practice in North Carolina and several U.S. federal courts, including the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the Mecklenburg County Bar, the North Carolina Bar Association, and the North Carolina Advocates for Justice. He has also shared his knowledge through legal seminars and remains active in community volunteer work.
