Melissa Dosick Riethof

Melissa Dosick Riethof is a partner at Meagher + Geer in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Her practice focuses on employment advising and litigation, commercial litigation, and appellate matters. Riethof represents companies and individuals in workplace disputes involving discrimination, harassment, and wrongful termination, as well as contractual disputes and other business torts. She guides clients through state and federal litigation, including discovery, complex motion practice, settlement negotiations, and trial.

Riethof earned her J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and her B.A. cum laude from Boston University. During law school, she served as executive editor of Health Matrix: Journal of Law-Medicine. She later clerked for judges Marianne D. Short, R.A. Randall, and Thomas J. Kalitowski of the Minnesota Court of Appeals, gaining valuable experience with appellate procedure, legal research, and judicial decision-making.

Riethof advises clients on regulatory matters involving state and federal agencies and represents companies and individuals in proceedings before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Minnesota Department of Human Rights. Her appellate practice includes preparing briefs and arguing cases before the Minnesota Court of Appeals, Minnesota Supreme Court, and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. She also assists clients with commercial disputes and employment-related claims throughout all stages of litigation.

Melissa Dosick Riethof is admitted in Minnesota and before federal courts in Minnesota and North Dakota, as well as the Eighth Circuit. She belongs to the Minnesota State Bar Association, Minnesota Women Lawyers, Minnesota Defense Lawyers Association, and Hennepin County Bar Association. Her professional service includes prior board involvement with Minnesota Women Lawyers, and she received the Minnesota State Bar Association’s North Star Lawyer Pro Bono Award from 2016 through 2018.
