Mazi Mazloom has built a legal career focused on criminal defense, DUI matters, traffic violations, and felony cases throughout Georgia. His background as a former prosecutor gives him insight into courtroom strategy and case preparation. He has handled thousands of criminal matters and worked with individuals facing difficult legal challenges.
Mazi earned a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Georgia State University in December 1994. He later received a J.D. from John Marshall Law School in Atlanta in December 1997. He also completed National District Attorneys Association Trial Advocacy at the National Advocacy Center in Columbia, S.C., in March 2002 to strengthen his courtroom advocacy skills.
Mazi was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1998 and began practicing in consumer bankruptcy, immigration, personal injury, and criminal defense matters. His early legal work exposed him to different areas of litigation and client advocacy. That experience helped him develop a practical understanding of both negotiation and courtroom procedures.
Mazi later served as an Assistant Solicitor General for the Cobb Judicial Circuit after being appointed by the Honorable Barry E. Morgan. In that position, he prosecuted misdemeanors, traffic violations, and DUI cases in Cobb County State Court. He also became the first Iranian-American prosecutor in the State of Georgia during that appointment.
Mazi was later appointed by the Honorable Patrick H. Head as an Assistant District Attorney for the Cobb Judicial Circuit. He handled felony prosecutions in the Superior Courts of Cobb County and gained substantial trial experience. His prosecutorial background continues to influence the way he prepares criminal defense strategies for clients today.
Mazi has also remained active in professional leadership and community service throughout his career. He held leadership positions within the Cobb County Bar Association and participated in organizations connected to criminal defense and DUI law. His work additionally included educational instruction, scholarship support, and involvement with charitable and civic programs across the community.
Mazi Mazloom has received recognition for his legal work and community involvement over the years. His honors include the Ross Adams Younger Lawyer Award, the Justice Robert Benham Award for Community Service, and recognition from Georgia Super Lawyers. His career reflects long-term dedication to criminal law, courtroom advocacy, and service throughout the Georgia legal community.
