Maximilian A. Stovall

Maximilian A. Stovall is the founder of the Law Offices of Maximilian A. Stovall, with offices in Minden and Reno, Nevada. His practice focuses primarily on criminal defense and family law, as well as appeals and select real estate matters. Stovall defends clients facing misdemeanor and felony charges and provides court-appointed criminal defense services to indigent defendants in Minden and Lake Tahoe under a contract with Douglas County.

Stovall earned his J.D. with honors from Mississippi College School of Law in 2016, where he received an above-full-tuition scholarship and served as a family law teaching assistant. He previously earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2013. His academic training provided a strong foundation in legal analysis, litigation strategy, and practical problem-solving that supports his criminal defense and family law practice.

Stovall began his legal career with judicial clerkships at the Mississippi Court of Appeals and in Nevada before serving as a Humboldt County Deputy District Attorney. As a prosecutor, he managed more than 600 active cases and regularly handled jury and bench trials, as well as court hearings. His defense experience includes obtaining dismissals, reduced charges, and probation in serious matters involving weapons allegations, domestic battery, competency disputes, and attempts to elude law enforcement.

Maximilian A. Stovall founded his firm in 2021 and brings extensive courtroom experience to clients throughout Northern Nevada. He was named Family Law Lawyer of the Year through the Washoe County Lawyer in the Library program in 2022, 2023, and 2024. His community involvement also includes mentoring law students and volunteering with legal education, Special Olympics, and Habitat for Humanity programs. Stovall combines careful preparation, direct guidance, and a client-focused approach to serious legal challenges.
