Matthew Ploeger is an appellate attorney at Sutliff & Stout, Injury & Accident Law Firm,  who serves clients with diligence, skill, and steady focus. He built his career on handling appeals, shaping legal arguments, and supporting trial teams at key stages of litigation. His work includes summary judgments, pretrial motions, jury charges, and post-verdict motions in motorcycle accidents and other accident cases. Matthew earned a J.D. from Stanford Law School, where he served as Executive Editor of the Stanford Law Review and worked as a Research Assistant to Prof. Marc A. Franklin. Before law school, he attended the University of Texas at Austin, earning a Ph.D., M.A., and B.A. in Sociology of Law and Criminology. His dissertation examined expert witnesses in federal civil litigation. He also worked on the Consumer Bankruptcy Project.

Matthew began his legal career as a judicial clerk for Chief Justice Nathan L. Hecht of the Texas Supreme Court. He then joined the appellate practice group at a major law firm, where he spent more than 10 years handling a wide range of appeals. He worked closely with trial teams, providing critical support before, during, and after trial. After gaining this broad experience, he opened his own appellate practice. He is admitted to practice before the Texas Supreme Court, Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
