James earned his B.A. from the University of Colorado Denver, graduating cum laude and with distinction. He later received his J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2010, building a solid academic foundation that supports his practical legal knowledge and courtroom skills.
James began his legal career as a Deputy District Attorney for the Fourth Judicial District in El Paso County, Colorado. In that role, he prosecuted numerous felony and misdemeanor cases, gaining valuable trial experience across a wide range of serious criminal charges and legal issues.
James handled cases involving First-Degree Murder, Aggravated Robbery, First-Degree Arson, Vehicular Homicide, and Assault. His work also included DUI/DWAI offenses, domestic violence matters, and drug-related charges, giving him deep insight into how complex criminal cases are investigated and tried.
