Matthew D. Morgan is a Maine attorney whose practice includes criminal defense and civil litigation. As a partner at his firm, he represents clients in a wide range of matters in both state and federal courts. Before entering private practice, he served as a Law Clerk for the Bangor District and Superior Courts, gaining valuable insight into courtroom procedure and judicial decision-making. He is committed to providing thoughtful, thorough, and effective representation.

Matthew earned his B.A., magna cum laude, from Bates College in 2009. He later received his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Maine School of Law in 2012. During law school, he served as Research Editor of the Ocean and Coastal Law Journal and published scholarly work on property law issues. His academic success reflects strong research, writing, and analytical skills that support his litigation practice.

While in law school, Matthew worked as a MAPIL Fellow at Pine Tree Legal Assistance and as a student attorney at the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office. He also gained experience in insurance and personal injury law as a research associate. Over the years, he has remained active in his community, serving on nonprofit boards and volunteering with legal and community organizations that support Maine residents.

In 2021, Matthew D. Morgan was appointed to serve on the Maine Commission on Indigent Legal Services, recognizing his dedication to high-quality representation for those entitled to counsel. He continues to represent indigent clients in state and federal courts. Admitted to practice in Maine, Matthew is a member of several bar and trial lawyer associations and is known for his commitment to justice and professional excellence.
