Mary J. Murray

Mary J. Murray is a highly experienced family law attorney who has been practicing since 1991. She is dedicated to guiding individuals and families through some of life’s most difficult challenges, including divorce, custody disputes, and property division.

Mary graduated magna cum laude from Niagara University in 1987, where she attended on a basketball scholarship. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1990 and successfully passed the New York State Bar Exam the same year. Licensed in both New York and South Carolina, she combines her extensive legal education with more than three decades of practical experience to deliver effective representation to her clients.

After ten years of litigating in New York, Mary relocated to Charleston, South Carolina, where she devoted her practice exclusively to family law. She represents clients in matters involving separation, divorce, alimony, custody, child support, property agreements, and equitable distribution. Mary is an active member of the Charleston County Bar Association, South Carolina Bar Association, South Carolina Women Lawyers Association, and the South Carolina Collaborative Law Institute. She is certified by the South Carolina Supreme Court as a Family Court Mediator and is trained in Collaborative Law. Beyond her legal practice, she contributes to the Charleston community as the founding president of the Rotary Club of Daniel Island and supports local schools and charitable organizations through volunteerism and philanthropy.
