About
Martha B. Walker serves Of Counsel to Walker & Spang, LLC in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. She practiced law in South-Central Pennsylvania for more than 48 years with a concentration on family law. Her work has focused on domestic relations matters and the procedures that shape divorce, custody, support, and related family disputes. She was the first woman admitted to the Franklin County Bar and has played a long-standing role in the local legal community.
Martha graduated from Wilson College and received her law degree from the Dickinson School of Law. Her legal education was followed by decades of family law practice, teaching, and professional service. She has taught Domestic Relations courses at Wilson College and Penn State University and has lectured at the Dickinson School of Law and the Pennsylvania Bar Institute. She is trained in mediation and conflict resolution, adding another dimension to her family law background.
Martha chaired the Franklin County Bar Association’s Domestic Relations Committee for 30 years. In that role, she was involved in establishing the court’s current Divorce Master System and Custody Conciliation Process. Her work therefore extends beyond individual client representation to the local procedures used to manage family law disputes. She has also served as president of the Franklin County Bar Association and on the boards of numerous nonprofit organizations.
Martha B. Walker has received recognition for professional leadership, pro bono service, and community involvement. Her honors include the Gilbert Nurick Leadership Award, a Pennsylvania Bar Association Pro-Bono Award, and the Franklin County Bar Association’s Edmund C. Singerd, Jr. Award. Her long record in family law combines client representation, mediation training, legal education, bar leadership, and contributions to local domestic relations procedures that continue to affect family law practice in Franklin County.
