Mark S. Middlemas is a bankruptcy attorney at Scalley Reading Bates Hansen & Rasmussen, where his practice emphasizes creditor bankruptcy, foreclosure, and litigation strategies. He has built a career representing financial institutions, mortgage lenders, credit unions, contractors, and suppliers in complex bankruptcy and real property cases across multiple states. Mr. Middlemas earned his Juris Doctor from the Dickinson School of Law of Pennsylvania State University in 2001, following the completion of his Bachelor of Arts degrees in Film Studies and Political Science from the University of Utah in 1997. Admitted to practice in Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming, he also appears before the federal courts of Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Nebraska, and North Dakota, providing clients with a broad platform for legal advocacy.

From 2004 to 2008, Mr. Middlemas served as the bankruptcy, litigation, and foreclosure attorney for Castle, Meinhold & Stawiarski’s Utah division, as well as in-house counsel for First Southwestern Title of Utah. He then joined Lundberg & Associates, where he became a shareholder in 2013 and focused on creditor bankruptcy, particularly mortgage default servicing. Following the firm’s acquisition by Halliday Watkins & Mann in 2023, he supervised bankruptcy strategies in 13 states before joining Scalley Reading Bates Hansen & Rasmussen.

In addition to his practice, Mark S. Middlemas has been active in professional leadership. He served as president of the Utah Bankruptcy Lawyers Forum from 2013 to 2017, sat on the Bankruptcy Local Rules Committee for the District of Utah from 2017 to 2023, and was treasurer/secretary of the Wyoming Bankruptcy Bar Committee from 2021 to 2023. His experience and leadership continue to position him as a trusted resource in creditor bankruptcy law.
