Mark S. Davis

Mark S. Davis is a distinguished attorney and founding partner of Davis Levin Livingston, one of Hawai’i’s premier plaintiffs’ law firms. With over 50 years of legal experience, Mr. Davis has built a reputation as one of the country’s most accomplished trial attorneys, earning recognition as the only Hawai’i lawyer admitted to The Inner Circle of Advocates, an elite group of the top 100 trial lawyers in the United States.

Mr. Davis’s practice areas include personal injury, medical malpractice, class actions, civil rights, insurance bad faith, and consumer rights. He has achieved groundbreaking results in numerous high-profile cases, including the highest Federal Tort Claims judgment in Hawai’i’s history, the largest state tort liability settlement, and record-setting individual damages awards in child abuse cases. His work has spanned all the Hawaiian Islands, including notable successes on neighboring islands.

Mr. Davis earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, graduating cum laude with honors from Tulane University in 1971. He went on to receive his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Washington University School of Law in 1974, where he served as Associate Topics Editor for the Urban Law Annual. Admitted to the Hawai‘i Bar in 1974, Mr. Davis has extensive experience representing clients in state and federal courts, including matters before the U.S. Supreme Court.

As a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and a member of the Roscoe Pound Foundation, Mr. Davis is committed to advancing the field of law. He has served as President-Elect of The Inner Circle of Advocates, Governor of the American Association for Justice, and Chair of numerous legal committees. A frequent lecturer, he has contributed to continuing legal education and professional development for decades.
