Mark R Slovacek

Mark R Slovacek is an experienced intellectual property attorney who has been protecting innovations and inventions since joining his firm in 2007. Starting as a legal intern while attending Capital University Law School, Mark quickly transitioned into a full-time legal role, where he has since worked on countless IP matters. His greatest satisfaction comes from helping inventors turn ideas into commercial products and guiding clients through the patent process with care and precision.

Mark holds a J.D. from Capital University Law School. He earned a B.S.E.E.E. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Tulsa and an A.S. in Pre-Engineering from Barton County Community College in Kansas.

Before his legal career, Mark developed a diverse technical background in engineering. His work included roles at Williams Communications and Boeing, where he performed complex electrical engineering tasks. He also contributed to utility pole remediation projects, worked on engineering design for an ethanol/biodiesel plant, and created custom software solutions. This breadth of experience provides him with a practical, hands-on understanding of technology, which he applies directly to helping clients safeguard their intellectual property.

Mark is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and is admitted to the Supreme Court of Ohio. His unique combination of legal knowledge and real-world engineering expertise enables him to draft and prosecute patents that align with both legal standards and technical realities.
