Mark P. Melchert

Mark P. Melchert is a member of Jermain, Dunnagan & Owens, P.C. in Anchorage. His practice focuses on business law, public procurement and construction, real estate, and natural resources matters. He advises organizations, companies, individuals, and businesses on commercial and real estate transactions, governance, financing, and related issues, helping clients balance legal requirements with the business considerations that shape operational and strategic decisions.

Melchert earned a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Minnesota in 1992, where he served as Articles Editor of the Journal of Law & Inequality. He earned a B.A., magna cum laude, from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, in 1988. His education provides a strong foundation for transaction work, legal writing, governance analysis, and the practical assessment of contractual and regulatory issues affecting businesses and public entities.

Melchert works with Alaska Native corporations, private companies, entrepreneurs, school districts, community health centers, regional housing authorities, and other organizations. His experience includes corporate governance, acquisitions, real estate transactions, startup formation and growth, commercial financing, procurement, leasing, IT licensing, and other commercial transactions. He also handles bid protests and litigation involving contract and real property disputes and serves as general counsel to private and public entities.
