About

Mark Kritzer is a Houston civil litigation attorney whose practice focuses on family law disputes, probate litigation, basic estate planning, and guardianship matters. He has worked as an associate attorney since 2022 and represents clients in Harris, Fort Bend, Brazoria, Montgomery, and Galveston counties. His practice also includes mediation and negotiation, providing clients with options for resolving disputes outside a trial when appropriate. Mark works on legal matters that can affect family relationships, property rights, and responsibilities toward loved ones.

Mark earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and American Studies from the University of Texas at Austin in 2017. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law Center in 2021 and was licensed to practice in Texas in 2022. He became a certified mediator in 2017. His education and mediation training support his work in contested family and probate matters, where legal analysis and careful discussion of opposing interests are important.

Mark’s practice involves family law litigation, probate disputes, estate planning services, and assisting with guardianship proceedings. During law school, he competed in alternative dispute resolution and client counseling programs, winning the inaugural University of Houston Law Center ADR intrateam competition in 2020. He also reached the semifinals of the 2021 Transatlantic Negotiation Competition and was runner-up in an ABA regional client counseling competition. He has continued to coach university negotiation and client counseling teams.

Mark received the American Bankruptcy Institute Medal of Excellence, Houston Bar Association Alternative Dispute Resolution Scholarship Award, and Yale Rosenberg Memorial Prize in 2021. He has served as secretary of the Houston Bar Association’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Council and belongs to its family and probate law sections. He has written about family law presumptions and the overlap between child-related litigation, guardianship, and probate. Mark Kritzer combines litigation experience, mediation credentials, and recognized advocacy training when representing Houston-area families.
