Mark J. Goodman is a seasoned workers’ compensation attorney with more than three decades of experience representing mid- to large-sized self-insured employers, insurance companies, and governmental entities across Georgia. He also defends claims involving nursing homes and related liability matters. He is known for his steady approach, practical guidance, and commitment to resolving disputes efficiently and cost-effectively.
Mark earned his A.B., 1981 from Georgetown University before pursuing his legal education. He later obtained his J.D. in 1984 from Duke University School of Law. This strong academic foundation helped shape his analytical skills and prepared him for a long career handling complex workers’ compensation and litigation matters throughout Georgia.
Mark has managed hundreds of mediations and hearings during his 35-year career. He serves on the Georgia State Board of Workers’ Compensation Chairman’s Advisory Committee, where he contributes to discussions on legislation, procedural rules, and public education. He frequently speaks at the State Board of Workers’ Compensation Annual Educational Seminar, Regional Seminars, ICLE Georgia programs, and industry trade associations.
Mark has earned recognition for his work, including an AV Preeminent® Rating, Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review. He is a Fellow of the College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers (2025) and has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America©, 2018-Present. He also received the State Bar of Georgia Workers’ Compensation Law Section Distinguished Service Award (2024 Recipient) for his contributions to the field.
