About
Mark E. Wight has spent more than 30 years helping families prepare for important legal and financial decisions. His work focuses on estate planning, trust planning, disability preparation, and long-term family protection. He believes every family deserves a clear and dependable plan that protects loved ones during life changes, illness, and future transitions.
Mark earned his degree from Utah State University before receiving his Juris Doctor from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University. He began his legal career at the Department of the Interior in Washington, D.C. before later moving to Idaho and entering private practice. His education and early legal experience helped shape his practical approach to estate planning.
Mark focuses strongly on educating families and professionals about careful planning and legal preparation. He regularly shares guidance with attorneys, financial advisors, accountants, caregivers, and community groups. He helps families understand how estate plans should be customized for their personal situations instead of relying on general legal documents that may not fully protect their future interests.
Mark E. Wight continues to support families through his involvement with professional organizations, educational programs, and community service efforts. He is a member of the Idaho State Bar, Wealth Counsel, and Elder Counsel. His service also includes volunteer work with the CASA program, where he received the CASA Attorney of the Year Award in 2006 and the Denise O’Donnell-Day, Pro Bono Award in 2003 for fifteen years of service helping children and families in need.
