Mark Avery is an experienced business attorney with over 25 years in the legal field. He specializes in business transactions, mergers and acquisitions, corporate law, commercial real estate, bankruptcy, and estate planning. As a Senior Of Counsel at Hajjar Peters LLP and the founder of Avery Law, Mark has completed over a thousand transactions, including business sales, asset and stock acquisitions, mergers, and commercial loans, with values ranging from $100,000 to $500,000,000.
Mark earned his BA in Foreign Languages and International Business from the University of Idaho, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He furthered his education with a JD from Brigham Young University, where he became a member of Phi Delta Phi and served as Senior Editor on the Moot Court Board of Advocates.
Early in his career, Mark clerked for two highly respected trial judges, gaining firsthand experience with complex commercial litigation. He served the Honorable Edward C. Prado in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas and the Honorable Anthony Schofield in Utah’s Fourth District Court. These federal and state court clerkships gave Mark deep insight into the judicial process, especially in commercial disputes and contract enforcement, shaping his practical, business-focused approach to commercial and business law.
