She has advocated for clients in state and federal courts, before agencies, and in arbitration and mediation forums.

Maria earned her B.A. in Music, summa cum laude, from Oregon State University, where she was actively involved in musical theatre, opera productions, and the Chamber Choir. She later pursued her legal education at the William S. Richardson School of Law, University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. Graduating magna cum laude in 2011, she earned a J.D. with a Certificate in Native Hawaiian Law and served in leadership and editorial roles during her studies.
