Marcus A. Semmes is the founder of Semmes Law Firm, P.C., which serves clients from offices in Foley and Fairhope, Alabama. Mr. Semmes earned his J.D. from Birmingham School of Law, where he graduated sixth in his class and served as Chancellor of the Sigma Delta Kappa honor society. He also graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in Corporate Finance and Investment Management. His education, combined with a background in finance, supports a practical approach to bankruptcy, business, estate, and family law matters.
Before practicing law, Mr. Semmes worked in the technology industry, developing complex computer networks and systems for organizations including St. Vincent’s Hospital, Citrix Systems, and BBVA Compass Bank. That experience gives him a useful understanding of business operations, systems, and problem-solving. In legal practice, he handles matters involving contested and uncontested divorce, custody, visitation, support, modifications, adoption, wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, probate, conservatorships, and guardianships.
Marcus A. Semmes is admitted to practice before the Alabama State Bar, the US District Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Alabama, and the US Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He is also a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys.
