Marco H. Santamaria is a Partner and Registered Patent Attorney at Peacock Law P.C., where he practices patent prosecution and intellectual property law. His work covers biotechnology, chemical, pharmaceutical, and material sciences, medical devices, scientific diagnostics, industrial processes, trademarks, copyrights, IP litigation, and infringement analysis. Marco earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 2020. He previously earned his M.S. in Bioengineering from the University of California San Diego in 2016 and his B.S. in Bioengineering: Biotechnology from the same university in 2013. During law school, he externed for Judge Jimmie V. Reyna of the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, gaining direct exposure to appellate patent law and complex intellectual property disputes.

Before practicing law, Marco worked as a project scientist and laboratory manager for a Department of Veterans Affairs research laboratory and as a graduate researcher at the University of California San Diego. His scientific work involved cardiovascular physiology, hypertension, shock, receptor response, and experimental therapeutics. He has authored peer-reviewed technical publications and holds a patent involving small-molecule therapeutics. This research background helps him understand complex technologies when preparing patent applications, evaluating inventions, and advising clients on intellectual property strategy.

Marco H. Santamaria is registered to practice before the US Patent and Trademark Office and is licensed in New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, and Washington, D.C. He is also admitted before the US District Court for the District of New Mexico. Marco has held leadership roles with the Hispanic National Bar Association and New Mexico Hispanic Bar Association.
