Mallory Henninger

Mallory Henninger is an intellectual property attorney who advises large and small businesses on IP-intensive transactions. She focuses on mergers and acquisitions, licensing, commercial agreements, and intellectual property due diligence. Her experience in patent and trademark prosecution and enforcement helps her assess the value and legal risks tied to intellectual property assets. She takes a holistic approach to transactions, helping clients connect legal strategy with the practical goals of a purchase, sale, or commercial relationship.

Mallory earned a B.A. in Psychology, summa cum laude, from Creighton University in 2008. She received a PharmD. from Creighton University School of Pharmacy and the Health Professions in 2012. She then earned a J.D., magna cum laude, from Creighton University School of Law in 2015 and an LL.M. from The John Marshall Law School in 2019. This combined background supports her work at the intersection of law, science, technology, and business.

Mallory has worked with clients across computer hardware and software systems, computer networking, mobile devices, telecommunications, avionics, and optics. Her industry experience also covers food science, agricultural technology, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and mechanical technologies. She has represented buyers and sellers in acquisitions and helps them examine ownership, protection, licensing terms, and other IP concerns. Her broader work includes U.S. and foreign patent and trademark prosecution, patent searches and opinions, technology agreements, copyrights, Trademark Trial and Appeal Board matters, and litigation support.

Mallory Henninger was admitted to the State Bar of Iowa in 2015 and registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office in 2017, although that registration is now voluntarily inactive. She also teaches as an adjunct professor of law at Creighton University. Her combination of legal, scientific, and transactional knowledge allows her to evaluate intellectual property from several angles.
