M. Vanessa Favia​

Vanessa Favia​ is an experienced attorney whose practice focuses on criminal law, family law, personal injury, and real estate matters. She represents clients in both prosecution and defense-related criminal cases, bringing a balanced and informed perspective to every matter. Ms. Favia earned her B.A. from the University of Iowa, graduating with honors with a major in Sociology and Communication Studies. She later earned her J.D. from Drake University School of Law, where she also obtained a certification in Litigation and Dispute Resolution. During law school, she completed clerkships with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa, the Iowa Attorney General’s Office, the Polk County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Youth Law Center, gaining early exposure to criminal prosecution and advocacy.

Licensed to practice in Illinois and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois since 2005, Ms. Favia has built her career around courtroom advocacy and client-centered representation. Her practice spans criminal defense, family law disputes, and personal injury claims, allowing her to address a wide range of legal needs. She is also experienced in handling real estate matters, adding further breadth to her legal services.

In addition to her legal practice, M. Vanessa Favia​ serves as a Court Appointed Special Advocate in DuPage County, supporting abused and neglected children within the juvenile court system.
