Scott Gordon has built a career focused on family law, mediation, and matters involving children and families. As the founding principal of a legal practice devoted to these areas, he has developed extensive experience handling sensitive legal issues that require careful judgment, strong communication, and a practical approach to dispute resolution. His work reflects a commitment to helping individuals navigate complex family-related legal matters while keeping the interests of children and families at the forefront.
Scott established a strong academic foundation through studies in multiple disciplines. He earned a Bachelor of Science from the American College of Switzerland in 1984. He later received a Master’s in history from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1989. Continuing his legal education, he earned a Juris Doctorate from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1995. This combination of educational experiences contributes to a well-rounded perspective when addressing legal challenges and resolving disputes.
Scott was admitted to the Illinois Bar and the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois in 1995. His professional qualifications also include certification as a Mediator. In addition, he serves on the Circuit Court of Cook County’s panel for appointment as a Child’s Representative/Guardian ad Litem. These roles reflect both legal knowledge and a dedication to matters affecting children and families within the court system.
Scott has contributed to the legal community through appointments and volunteer service. Chief Judge Grace Dickler of the Domestic Relations Division appointed him to the Family Mediation Services Committee of the Circuit Court of Cook County. Through this work, he helped develop the “Children and Teens Speak” program with the Court. Beyond legal service, he volunteers with the Lilac Tree on its programming committee and serves as Vice President of his condominium association.
