Colin began his legal career as a prosecutor in the Denver City Attorney’s Office. He later worked in the Mesa County District Attorney’s Office and then in the San Miguel District Attorney’s Office. These early roles gave him real courtroom experience handling both felony and misdemeanor cases.

Colin handled many cases that went to jury trial and worked across several counties, including Delta, Montrose, Ouray, and Gunnison. He was also selected as a Special Prosecutor for cases in other judicial districts. This work strengthened his understanding of the criminal justice system from the prosecution side.

Colin transitioned to criminal defense in 1997 to better serve individuals facing charges. His experience as a former prosecutor allows him to understand how cases are built and argued. He uses this insight to create strong defense strategies for each client he represents.
