Lynette Potter is an attorney in Butler Snow’s Huntsville office and a key member of the firm’s Constitutional and Civil Rights Litigation group. She focuses her practice on representing correctional agencies in complex civil rights matters, including class actions, Section 1983 cases, and constitutional litigation involving conditions of confinement.

Lynette earned her Juris Doctor summa cum laude from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 2022. While in law school, she served as Executive Articles Editor for the Mississippi Law Journal and received multiple awards, including the Mississippi Defense Lawyer Association Award and the Reginald Gray Scholarship. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Alabama–Huntsville.

In her legal work, Lynette assists public agencies and private corporations in managing risk, shaping public policy, and resolving consent decrees and court-ordered monitoring. Her practice is deeply rooted in civil rights defense, appellate advocacy, commercial litigation, and health law—giving her a comprehensive view of institutional legal challenges.

Lynette is admitted to practice law in Alabama and before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Alabama, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of Alabama. She is a member of the Alabama Bar Association and the Huntsville-Madison County Bar Association.

Beyond her legal practice, Lynette Potter actively contributes to her community as a member of the Young Professional Advisory Council of the National Children’s Advocacy Center. She also engages in legal thought leadership, authoring blog content on emerging legal trends, including the ethical use of artificial intelligence in litigation.
