Luke Z. Fenchel

Luke Z. Fenchel is the founder of the Fenchel Defense Firm in Ithaca, New York, with a practice devoted to criminal defense. He represents individuals facing DWI allegations, other criminal charges, and disciplinary proceedings involving students. He previously managed the criminal defense practice at Holmberg Galbraith before opening his own office in 2016. His work includes protecting clients’ rights in court and responding to related consequences at schools and workplaces.

Fenchel earned a J.D. from Cornell Law School in 2005 and an A.B. with High Honors from Harvard College in 1999. His training also includes professional experience in civil rights litigation before establishing his criminal defense practice in the Finger Lakes region. He has lectured in legal studies at Ithaca College and advised students facing disciplinary proceedings at area educational institutions.

His criminal defense experience covers misdemeanor and felony driving while intoxicated matters, driving while ability impaired by drugs, and allegations arising on college campuses, in workplaces, and in personal relationships.
